2012 Show is GO!!!
The Italian Job…
When someone mentions Italy, what do you think of? Exquisite ice cream? Delicious pasta? Fine wine? Or Italy’s ability to produce some of the most desirable cars in the world?
As members of the Northern Ireland Italian Motor Club, you can guess what our choice is! The club was established in 2003 and from humble beginnings, it has grown to more than 70 enthusiastic members.
We have organised an annual gathering for the past six years and this year we will be running our ‘All Ireland Italian Motor Event’ at Lagan Valley Island, Lisburn, on Saturday 26 May.
We are grateful to Lisburn City Council for their support and we hope the event will entice a wide range of people with Italian cars or motorbikes to come along to display their pride and joy.
Why So Special?
When you consider the list of cars made in Italy, there is no mystery in their popularity. Italy is responsible for cars from the epitome of grace and style to basic no-frills vehicles that simply do their job.
Perhaps it is because the Italians understand that a car is, at times, an extension of ourselves, or the symbol of who we would like to be. And sometimes it is just a means of getting from one place to another.
Some of the most desirable brands in the world come from Italy and their cars are no exception. With lines, curves, structure and grace placed into each and every Italian designed car, engineers have captured the marvel that makes Italian automobiles a little more exciting than your average car today.
What can you expect to see?
We can promise a display of stunning Italian vehicles, both of the four wheeled and two wheeled variety. We hope that cars from manufacturers such as Ferrari, Maserati, Lamborghini, Alfa Romeo, Lancia, Fiat and Abarth will all be represented, some new, some older and possibly some very rare examples which are sure to attract interest.
Charles Hurst Specialist Car Division and Donnelly Group will also be present, bringing with them some of their latest Italian models.
We also hope to see a collection of Italian motorbikes – Ducatis, Moto Guzzis and Aprilias.
Auto Italia, a national motoring magazine devoted to Italian vehicles, will be there and plan to feature our event in a future edition. Some exhibitors and local companies will promote and sell a range of car related products.
Tasty!
Those attending the event will also be able to sample some delicious Italian food in Lighters Restaurant. The manager has kindly produced a special Italian breakfast and lunch menu, with coffee and snacks being available throughout the day
Free Entry
We do not charge an entry fee for those displaying their vehicles or to those who simply come along to look at the display. Our intention is simply to run a successful event, promote interest in the Northern Ireland Italian Motor Club and hopefully generate increased club membership by encouraging those with a passion for Italian vehicles to join us.
So why not pay a visit to Lagan Valley Island on Saturday 26 May at any stage between 10am and 4pm? You can feast on the spectacle of breathtakingly beautiful machinery as well as the glorious food that will be on offer.
If you share our passion for all things Italian, then this is an event not to be missed!
