NIIMC members formally welcomed to Lisburn GC
Lisburn Golf Club hosted a reception for NIIMC members on Tuesday 1st July to formally welcome us to our new venue for monthly club meetings. Immediate past captain of the club, Dr Sam Moore greeted members on arrival and took time to admire some of the Italian cars parked at the entrance of the golf club. Inside members were offered a glass of prosecco (or pure orange) and a light supper was also served.
We are grateful to members past and present who made the effort to attend, including longstanding members Alastair McIlroy , Bryan Pearson and Richard Strapp and original members Annette and Rob . Dr Sam Moore extended a warm welcome to over 30 club members who had assembled and confirmed that the Golf Club was delighted to be forging a new relationship, with NIIMC.
We were also delighted that Maria D’Agostino, the new Honorary Consul of Italy was also in attendance. She assumes the title of President of the Northern Ireland Italian Motor Club from her father Leo, although he is keen to maintain his connection with the club. Naturally Maria was keen to promote all things Italian and felt that a Golf Club which is accustomed to a bit of style from its members with their dapper dress sense, is the perfect location for our club meetings as our Italian cars clearly add a welcome dimension in terms style and panache.
Members all agreed that we are looking forward to settling into our new permanent home for club meetings, so for those who haven’t been to one of our monthly meetings for a while please come along and see our fancy new surroundings!!
