Not long to go until our Annual Show
With only days to go until our annual All Ireland Italian Motor Event on Saturday 28th May we are both a little bit excited and a touch apprehensive about what lies in store for the weekend.
First of all we are excited at the prospect of welcoming Phil Ward, the Editor of the hugely popular Auto Italia magazine and his wife Josie who will both be joining us at our show this year. Whilst we cannot hope to rival a show on the scale of Auto Italia at Brooklands we are privileged that Phil and Josie have agreed to come to our club show which we hope can hold its head high when compared with other regional shows in England, Scotland and Wales. Another visitor from across the water will be Tony from Middle Barton Garage, Fiat and Abarth Specialists. Tony will be bringing along something quite unique which has not been seen on our shores before so you will simply have to come along for all to be revealed.
In case that has not whet your appetite enough we hope to have an impressive selection of other shiny cars and bikes for everyone to feast their eyes on. Donnelly Group will be bringing a selection of the latest cars from Abarth, Alfa Romeo and Fiat, including the Alfa Romeo 4C and the revised Alfa Romeo Giulietta. Charles Hurst Specialist Car Division will also be there with Italian style from Ferrari and Maserati and our friends from the Alfa Romeo Owner’s Club, Southern Section and Classic Fiat Ireland will once again be making the trip from various parts of Southern Ireland to join us. Their selection of cars always adds an extra dimension to the line up on display.
We will also have a number of exhibitors at the show and don’t forget the tasty food that will be available throughout the day in the Council building – from breakfast snacks and tea/coffee, to mid morning muffins and a selection of tasty dishes and other treats for lunch. There’ll be something to suit everyone’s tastes. We will also present a number of prizes in various categories to the owners of the best cars and motorbikes.
There is one Italian marque that has been lacking at our show in recent years. We hope to address that this year and I can promise that the make and model in question will be a real head turner. I’ll not say what it is so if you want to know you will just have to come along and see for yourself.
So make sure you make tracks to Lisburn on Saturday to see our Italian collection. You won’t be disappointed.
Oh, and I almost forgot – we are a little apprehensive as we don’t know whether the sun will shine on us on Saturday. We will do our best to make it 5 dry years in a row so please keep your fingers, toes and anything else possible crossed for fine weather this weekend.
