Final countdown to our Annual Show

Final countdown to our Annual Show

We are now well and truly on the countdown to our annual “All Ireland Italian Motor Event” – it’s less than 2 weeks away.

The Mayor of Lisburn and Castlereagh, Brian Bloomfield MBE took time out of his busy schedule today to meet with club members Tim Logan, Alastair McIlroy and Herbie McBratney to hear how arrangements are progressing in preparation for the show at the end of the month.

The Mayor pledged his support for the event and took a keen interest in the two cars we had brought to show him as a taster of what to expect at the annual show.  He compared the simple elegance of Herbie’s rare 1964 Fiat 1500 Cabriolet with the modern styling of the latest Alfa Romeo Giulia.

The Mayor was interested to learn more about the range of cars and motorbikes that we hope will be present at the Northern Ireland Italian Motor Club’s show at Lagan Valley Island on Saturday 27 May and promised to make every effort to join us to officially open the event and welcome everyone to Lisburn City.

We hope to have an impressive display of Italian marques at the show, both of the four wheeled and two wheeled variety. Cars from manufacturers such as Ferrari, Maserati, Alfa Romeo, Abarth and Lancia will all be represented, some old, some new and possibly some rare examples which people may not have seen before. Not forgetting the motorbikes we also hope to see a collection of stylish two wheeled offerings from Italy – Ducatis, Moto Guzzis and Aprilias and possibly some Vespas and Lambretta scooters.

Donnelly Group will again be supporting the event and some of their latest cars from Abarth, Alfa Romeo and Fiat will be there for prospective buyers to feast their eyes on. There’ll be something to appeal to all tastes.

In case you need reminding entry is free, everyone is welcome and the event runs from 10am to 4pm. We are keen to host another successful show and it would be great if you and as many of your fellow Italian car and bike loving friends could join us.

So please continue to spread the word and encourage anyone you know to come along to Lagan Valley Island on 27 May – preferably with an Italian car or bike.
